I have had a lot of conversations around beliefs lately and felt called to share on this topic.I had supervision this morning and we discussed how coaching is done in the layers of the iceberg.The tip of the iceberg - tasks, goals, action plans - the heady stuffThe middle layer - reframing, cognitive behavioural levels where some reframing and changes occurThe bottom of the iceberg - the heart of the matter, the root causes, the deep beliefs, the wounds, the darkness, the heartbreaks which really make you wired and behave in this world a certain way - it is not always the way that serves us.

Coaching on the tip of the iceberg is the easiest and where every coaching journey start. To set goals and action plans. It is important. You can stay at this level, if you want to just work with the what, the observable, taught realm.However, the real work happens deep within - this is the work I love! - in your heart, in your soul, in your body. The caught, the subconscious, intangible!They know more than your mind. The tip of the iceberg is the mind and it is easy to stay there - but to find real freedom - we must do the real, deep work within our hearts, bodies and souls.Do you have limiting beliefs that do not serve you?Limiting stories that you live every day?Do you know there are knots in your heart space that need opening?Do you want freedom?Then, you gotta get to the bottom of the iceberg. Beliefs lie there.What you believe, you know to be true, that is what beliefs are. So, your beliefs determine your reality.I'll give you a simple exercise how you can take stock of beliefs you have, why you have them and how to start rewriting them. This can be done on any limiting belief you have.
Let me give you the step-by-step with examples of each so you can see it for yourself:
1. Write down the belief.
I am not worthy. I am not putting myself out there because I don't look the part and I am not worthy of being successful in what I do.
2. Why do I believe that? :
3. Rewrite it, what do you want to believe instead:
4. What one action can I take from this new belief?
You will not believe it - but the point is you start telling yourself this story and take action from it and it will be ingrained in you.
