I spoke to 128 students at my old high school in Finland last week. 🎤

Can I share a secret? I never thought that would be possible when I was at that age, I was terrified to speak in class let alone in front of over a hundred people.And yet, over 10 years later, there I was, confidently speaking to the students about taking the leap and moving abroad. 🌍

You see, as a Coach and Speaker, it’s part of my mission to open students' eyes to the endless possibilities that await them after graduation. I have been coaching students for years with the aim inspire them to discover and pursue the path that truly belongs to them.

As I spoke to these students last week, I encouraged them to dare to carve their own path that might be different. To see that going abroad isn’t as daunting as it may seem. To break down the barriers and give them the knowledge and confidence they need to take that step.

I’ve always been the “road less traveled” girl, and I always will be. Sharing my story last week was about showing young people that there’s a world of opportunity out there, even if school doesn’t come easy to you.

One key message I shared was this: “Your grades do not define you or what you can achieve in life.” 🙌🏼

I finished high school with less-than-stellar grades, yet I went on to study at universities in both the US and the UK, earning two degrees with the highest honors. Today, I’m an entrepreneur and an author.

Anything is possible. 🔥 So, if you're studying and feeling the pressure with grades, or you have a child in school or you're teaching youngsters at schools, remind them of that. Grades do not define their potential!

I wrapped up my talk with a quote that has always resonated with me:“If you can dream it, you can do it.” - Walt Disney. 🪄

I wanted them to feel the fear and do it anyway, with courage. Because if you can dream it, you already have everything it takes to make it happen!

Students need to hear this more often. They need to know it’s okay to dream big and go after it.And so do you, my dear reader. Remember that the world is your oyster. It is never too late to go abroad. It is never too late to chase your dreams. No matter at what stage you are in your life - it is never too late.

Returning to my high school as an alumnus to share this message was a bucket list moment for me. The teenager me who was afraid of public speaking in high school would have not believed that I would actually be excited and energised speaking to 128 people, and in fact it would be my dream job! 🤩
