This past Sunday I had the pleasure to faciliate "More Espresso Less Depresso" women's meetup in Shoreditch, London. I created this to create an intimate group setting where we can come together to offload over coffee and receive support for what we are experiencing in our lives. For two hours, we gathered to vulnerably share what we were carrying in our hearts. The meetup was filled with laughter, some tears and this profound feeling of togetherness and sisterhood. We all left the space all expressing feeling of "wholesome" and "heartful."What blows my mind every time I do these meetups is the wisdom that is shared. I as a coach facilitate the space, but it is often the wisdom of the women at the table that create most magic.Every time I take a snippet of wisdom with me, and this time one of the women shared a beautiful Spanish phrase that was really profound in connection to when someone tells us: "you are so strong to go through this."The Spanish saying the lady shared was:"Bailo as son que me toquen.""I dance at the rhythm they play."The truth is that when someone says "you are so strong to go through this" - whatever that may be - the truth is, we just dance at the rhythm life plays us. We just play the cards life deals us. There is no other choice. What life gives is for us. The ups and downs and everything in between are all meant fo us to go through. What is given for us we are strong enough to get through. Nothing given for us what we cannot handle. That is why I believe the rhythm played and what we go through in our lifes, especially the hardest things, are the showcase of God's faith in us to give us challenges that will make us who we are meant to be.So, we all just dance at the rhythm God plays the instrument of life He gave us.We just gotta keep dancing this dance of life. The rhythms of it change but this is your reminder that you can trust you know the choreopgraphy deep within. You have everything what it takes to get through this phase of dance you may be in.You may be in a phase where you are waltzing around in such a flow or you may be in the midst of a challenging dance where you fall at times, but resilience is that we pick ourselves up and keep moving. So, whatever you may be going through right now you beautiful soul.Keep moving. Keep connecting. You've got everything to get through this.Just keep dancing at the rhythm life plays.Trust yourself and trust that something higher gave this to you because you are strong enough to get through it - and you are on your way to meet your best self on the other side. Heartfully,EssiPS: If the rhythm of life is a bit crazy for you right now though, join me this Thursday evening for a free 30min online meditation and journaling meetup. More info below!
Feeling the noise of the world is getting to you and you need a moment for yourself? You've found the right place.
Life gets busy, but everyone has 30minutes. Connecting Moment is a 30-minute online gathering for where we come together as women to take a moment to connect within ourselves.
The 30minutes will have a word of intention, and this month it is "grounded." In this 30minutes, our aim is to help you feel more grounded within you and receive any answers from within you need to feel more connected and at peace. In this session, we won't engage with each other much but simply come together to meditate and journal together to give yourself a moment to connect within and hear what needs to heard from within.
Question for connection
Would your younger self be proud of you and look up to who you are today? At the end of the day, the only one we should make proud is our younger self. This question helps you to connect with how far you have come and what you have accomplished. This question can also be difficult, if your answer leans toward a no. If that is the case, reflect on what changes need to happen so your younger self could look up to you with pride.
