11 strangers, 1 shared drawing: the magic of creating together 🎨
What one spontaneous moment of 15-second sketches and 11 open hearts taught me about creativity and letting go.

I’m writing to you with a full heart today.
There’s a lot I want to share — updates, upcoming clubs, new milestones — but I’ll save most of that for next week. Right now, I want to tell you a story. A story of unexpected creativity, community, and a little bit of magic.
Last Sunday, we held our Connect + Create Club at the British Museum. Firstly, this club started from one of our walk and talk clubs cancelled due to bad weather back in December.
I was away at the time, and something really special happened: my amazing volunteers suggested: “Why don’t we go to a gallery instead?”
That moment, that idea — that’s exactly what Connected You is all about. Creating safe, soul-nourishing spaces, led by real people following their intuition, passions, and desire to create meaningful spaces for connection.
The brilliant Alex stepped up to facilitate, blending connection with her love for art and illustration. And so, Connect + Create Club was born: a space where we connect through creativity in ways I never imagined.
I joined the club for the first time this past Sunday.
I’ve never thought of myself as someone who draws.
I’m used to to saying, “I can’t draw.”
But that day taught me to stop saying that. Because I did.
My favourite moment was when we were put in pairs to draw together. We had five minutes to start a drawing. Then, we swapped with our pair, and they finished it in five minutes.
As Alex explained, it’s a practice of letting go of attachment. You let someone else complete your vision.
I saw it as two hearts joining on paper.
That was beautiful enough.
But then something spontaneous happened in the end…
I felt inspired to suggest a new practice: co-creating artwork together, all 11 of us.
Each person began with a small drawing inspired by their personal intention set earlier in the day.
Then the timer started. 15 seconds. Switch. Again. And again.

Each drawing passed through every single hand in the circle.
By the end, we didn’t just have individual art — each of us had a shared masterpiece. Every piece held all of us. Our expressions, our presence, our energy. It was playful and so profound.
We started as individuals. We ended as one connected group.
That’s the power of creativity. It’s not about perfection, but expression. That’s what happens when we let go, trust the process, and try.
This was how my co-created drawing turned out.

Fancy joining us next time?
The next Connect + Create Club is on June 1st at the Natural History Museum. Come with us. You don’t need to be an artist. You just need to bring open heart and curious mind. This sells out fast, so be early to get your spot.

This is why we created Connected You:
Mentorship, real connection, self-development, and group coaching and mentoring spaces that gently pull us out of our comfort zones and into deeper connection with ourselves and each other.
If you’re craving more of that self-connection..
I’d love to invite you to our next Connected Circle next week, on Thursday, May 8th.
This month’s theme is finding your foundation through your core values — your inner compass.
This is a powerful space for honest reflection, coaching, and finding clarity on what truly matters to you.
You can get a feel for the magic of the last circle in the reel below. 👇
And if it calls to you, I’d love to have you there.
Omg this got long! If you read this far, thank you! 😄
I will tell bigger overall updates from behind the scenes next week! So much to share as we are going onward and upward! ❤️
For now, I hope this letter leaves you feeling inspired to try something new, or maybe to say “yes” to something you’d normally say “I can’t” to.
Because, you can.
With heartful gratitude,
Essi xx
