Overwhelmed by fast change? Your body is telling you to integrate.

Life can move faster than your inner rhythm. Exciting changes can feel overwhelming if you don’t give yourself time to integrate. This is how to realign.

Dear Reader,

I know I usually come into your inbox on Tuesdays, but I thought better a day late than not send a letter at all this week.

Since June, I’ve gone through a whirlwind of change entering a new relationship, career changes, mindset changes, moving to a new town and so on.

It’s all flowed, but sometimes when a lot of change happens at once in a short period of time at some point your body, mind and heart goes:

“Woah. This is a lot.”

It’s like your body catches up like “yo, we’ve got things to process.”

I’ve been thinking about alignment since yesterday.

Here’s the truth I keep returning to:

If you’re not aligned within yourself, your outer world will always mirror that misalignment.

Your relationships, your work, your decisions, they all start to wobble a little.

We often talk about change as something we choose.
A new job.
A move.
A relationship shift.
A boundary we finally honour.

But even when the change is something we want, something we’ve known is right for a long time, our nervous system has its own timeline.

Sometimes it catches up slowly.
Sometimes it slams the brakes.
Sometimes it whispers,
“Yes… but also… hold on.”

This is the part we often forget to honour.

Because alignment isn’t only about clarity, it’s also about capacity.
Your heart might say yes, while your body and heart say,
“I need to slow down” or “I need space to be and rest and reflect.”

And that doesn’t mean you’re wrong.
It means you’re human.

When we move faster than our nervous system can process, things around us can start to feel out of sync.

It’s not because the change was a mistake.
It’s because your system is asking for integration.

So if you’re currently in a season of shifting — big or small — here’s your gentle reminder:

Pause. Breathe. Make space to let your inner world catch up with your outer one.

Your relationships align when you align.
Your world steadies when you settle.
And there is no shame in needing a slower breath, a softer pace, or a moment to come back home to yourself and simply to take it all in.

And finally, remember this: you always have the right to change your mind.

If your heart isn’t fully in something, it’s a sign you’re slipping out of sync with your truth, and when that happens, integrity wobbles, and everything around you starts to fall off balance too.

Changing your mind, even if it risks disappointing someone, is an act of alignment.

A moment of disappointment is far kinder than the quiet resentment that grows when you go against yourself. And, truthfully, most people would rather know you’re acting from integrity than feel the weight of you doing something you didn’t want to do in the first place.

The simple way if you’re navigating a fast season of change and need to integrate is journaling. Here’s some questions for you:

Self-Connection Questions for Realignment in Fast Seasons of Change

  1. Is my heart fully in this? A great question to check on any specific decision, situation, relationship, work project or change you’re having.

  2. Am I acting in integrity with myself? Where might I have let go of that?

  3. Why did this happen? What’s the lesson or signal for me here?

  4. How does integration feel for me? When lots of change happens, what does the process look like in my body, mind, and heart?

  5. How can I create space to realign? What practices or pauses help me feel centered again?

  6. What feels off or out of sync? Where am I pushing too fast or resisting what’s happening?

  7. What small step can I take today that honors my truth and supports my alignment?

Take some time to journal on the changes that have happened this year. It’s been a big year of change for many of you.

Sending a big hug. You’ve got this. x

Heartfully,
Essi
