My dear reader,
Iβm intentionally taking a step back this week, my first real break since returning to London in January. Iβve been spending quality time with a dear friend I met in Indonesia, and together weβve been averaging 26,000 steps a day through our explorations in London.
This has been a vivid reminder of how walking is powerful as a way to connect with self and others.
Walking like this isnβt just lovely, itβs powerful.
Studies show that walking outdoors can significantly reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. It also promotes bilateral stimulation, similar to EMDR therapy, which supports emotional processing and grounding. Plus, even short walks in nature can help release cortisol, boost endorphins, and lift your mood .
Itβs a beautiful reminder: sometimes the simplest things, like putting one foot in front of the other, move our minds and hearts more deeply than we expect.
An invite to walk and talk this weekend. β€
Menβs Walk & Talk in Hyde Park this Saturday: I wrote about menβs mental health last week and how itβs important we provide men spaces to be human, too. We are doing our first walk and talk for men this weekend and it will be about connecting what it means to be a man in this world. Invite a man in your life to join if theyβre in London, and help us to make this first walk a success! π
Womenβs Walk and Talk in Greenwich this Sunday: We will reflect on what is our relationship with timeβhow we live it, feel it, and reclaim it together. β€
If youβre in London, join us! And if thereβs someone in your life who would benefit, invite them.
Movement connects, heals, and reminds us weβre not walking alone.
Or if you canβt make these walks, arrange one on your own and invite a loved one to go on a walk and check in with them with wholehearted presence this weekend.
It will make you feel heartful, guaranteed. π
Hereβs to healing steps, shared stories, and deep connection.
With heart,
Essi x
