Autumn’s reminder: you don’t have to sprint all year
Nature slows down, maybe it’s time you do, too.
Dear reader,
Last week, I shared something quite personal and vulnerable, how I am navigating burnout and being on a sick leave. You can read it here, if you missed it.
Today, as I sat in the car, I found myself captivated by the golden leaves and the autumnal spectrum of colours the trees now wear so gracefully. All summer they’ve been in full bloom, and now they’re preparing to release. Nature is slowing down, readying itself for the stillness of winter.
Autumn is a gentle reminder that sustainable success doesn’t come from constant sprinting. Cycles vs. hustle: nature doesn’t sprint all year round, and neither should we.
The trees don’t apologize for letting go of their leaves, and the soil doesn’t rush to produce in every season.
For me, this season is about choosing harmony over hustle. I’m learning that intentional recovery isn’t time lost. It’s time invested. Like soil lying fallow before spring planting, this pause is creating the foundation for sustainable growth.
So, I’m resting. Making space. Honouring my energy. And letting that be enough.
I’d love for you to reflect with me:
Where can you choose harmony over hustle?
How might intentional recovery strengthen your next season?
Sometimes, rest is the only progress you need to make.
Heartfully,
Essi x
